Talk time

What is Talk Time?

Talk Time is an international educational project where children from different countries communicate in English for real connection, not for grades or formal tasks.
The project is created and delivered by Nextvill Educational Centre.
We help children use English as a living communication tool, not just a school subject.
Project name: Talk time
Location: Perm, RF

Why we created Talk Time

Many children study English for years, but still:

  • are afraid to speak;
  • feel stressed about making mistakes;
  • do not see real meaning in using the language.

Talk Time was created to bridge the gap between knowing English and actually speaking it.

We create conditions where a child:

  • speaks calmly and without fear;
  • feels heard and respected;
  • understands why English matters in real life.
Who this project is for
Talk Time is designed for children who:
  • are 7–12 years old;
  • learn English as a foreign language;
  • need confidence and positive speaking experience.
  • We start with this age group intentionally, as it is especially sensitive to support, motivation and the experience of success.
How communication works

The project is built around:

  • short video exchanges between children from different countries;
  • simple and meaningful discussion topics (school life, home, hobbies, favourite things);
  • optional short live online meetings when the time difference allows.

In Talk Time there are:

  • no grades or exams;
  • no comparison between children;
  • no pressure to perform.
  • There is curiosity, real communication and a supportive atmosphere.
Why we do not work with native speakers

We deliberately focus on communication between children for whom English is not a native language.

This approach:

  • reduces fear of mistakes;
  • creates a sense of equality;
  • shifts attention from correctness to meaning;
  • helps children gain real speaking confidence.
  • In this environment, children start speaking more freely and naturally.
Our first international experience

Nextvill Educational Centre already has practical experience in international online communication with children from Turkey.

The topic of the meeting was simple and engaging — “My favourite toy.”

Children showed their toys, spoke about them in English, asked questions and listened to each other with genuine interest.

This experience showed us that:

  • children become involved very quickly;
  • tension disappears;
  • English starts working as a communication tool;
  • curiosity about other children’s lives grows naturally.
  • This is exactly the format we are developing in Talk Time.
